Considering the reality of Hell, Sheol, Naraka

Here are some wikipedia links to several versions of hell referred to and described in
various ancient texts of
several cultures and regions of the world.

Hell

Naraka

Sheol

Hades

What's very interesting about this, that should make you stop and think is
1. Even the presence/existence  of descriptions of such a concept or reality (based on what you believe)
2. The common aspects of the hell, naraka, sehol, hades across the different cultures and regions.

If you believe there is a hell, you better start looking into a way of avoiding ending up there..

Here's the only escape route that God has provided.

Some excerpts from the book 'Voices from the Edge of Eternity' compiled by John Myers

Mrs. Catherine Booth A.D 1890
Wife of William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army

"The
waters are rising, but
so am I.

I am not going under, but over!"

Do not be concerned about dying -- go on living well and the dying will be right"

--Dying words by A.H. Gottschall

Thomas A. Edison (famous inventor on his deathbed):

"It is very beautiful over there."

Edward Augustus (father of Queen Victoria on his death bed):

"Remember, if I am to be saved, it is
not as a prince, but
as a sinner."

The great chasm of separation mentioned in Luke 16:26
The great chasm of separation mentioned in Luke 16:26

Sir Thomas Smith A.D. 1577
Secretary of State to Queen Elizabeth

"It is a matter of lamentation that men
know not for what end they were born into the world
until they are ready to go out of it."

--Dying words by A.H. Gottschall

M I. A.D. 1421
King of Spain

"The path of kings is
in appearance strewn with flowers, but
thou seest not that roses have thorns.

Is not the
prince to leave the world as naked as the
peasant?"

--Dying words by A.H. Gottschall

Sudden Death
.. before she died she tore her hair, cast aside the trashy ornaments which adorned her person --of which she had been very fond -- and throwing up her cried aloud for mercy,
"Oh, Lord, have mercy on me! Oh Lord, Help me!"

In this distress of body and soul she passes into eternity without leaving any hope to those that stood around her dying form.

This sad experience is a striking illustration of the danger of putting off the day off the day and hour of salvation.
"For in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of Man cometh"

--Julia E. Strail, Portlandville, New York.

Napoleon Bonaparte A.D. 1821

This great emperor of France died in exile. His last recorded words were,
"I die before my time, and my body will be given back to the earth to become food for worms.
Such is the fate of him who has been called the great Napoleon.
What an abyss lies between
my deep misery and the
eternal kingdom of Christ!"

--Dying words by A.H. Gottschall
